Gond Tree of Life Art Painting

Gond Art originates from Madhya Pradesh  dating back nearly 1400 years.  Gond art is believed to be an offering in worship of nature, based on the Gond belief that a good image ushers in good luck and helps ward off evil. That is why a majority of Gond paintings take inspiration from nature. Gond art is created from carefully drawn lines that convey a sense of movement to still images. Dots and dashes are then added to increase the amount of detail. The paintings are bright and colorful, painted with natural colors derived from charcoal, soil, plant sap, leaves and cow dung.
